Approval of Amendment No. 2, Contract Y22-2415, Providing Funding for Homeless Prevention and Diversion Federal Subrecipient Agreement, with Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Inc., in the amount of $1,600,000, for a revised not-to-exceed amount of $3,401,914.80. PROCUREMENT:
This amendment will extend the subaward period of performance from September 30, 2024 through December 31, 2025, and adds funds to support the expansion of homeless prevention and diversion services for residents of Orange County to expand homeless outreach to the more underserved outer regions of the County. Currently, the provider assesses approximately 40 households monthly who are precariously housed or unhoused. The additional funding will support assessing an additional 480 households.

The Mental Health and Homelessness Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
The COVID-19 emergency caused a substantial increase in families and individuals losing employment, losing their housing, and suffering from other detrimental impacts including social, emotional, mental, and physical health distress. Research demonstrates an increase in the number of families and individuals affected by COVID-19. As one of the many consequences, housing insecurity has increased, resulting in an increase in the number of individuals seeking shelter and housing assistance.
