PROJECT: N/A

PURPOSE:
The Public Works Department, in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), is advancing the Shingle Creek Trail Phase 1, Segment 2 project into the construction phase. The project will construct approximately 1.2 miles of multi-use trail from State Road 528 to Destination Parkway. The trail will be constructed within existing right-of-way and trail easements and will be up to 14 feet wide, with a minimum width of 12 feet. The project includes approximately 2,031 linear feet of boardwalk and 4,427 linear feet of asphalt trail, along with concrete ribbon curbs, 42-inch pedestrian/ bicycle picket railing, drainage pipe and mitered end-section reconstruction, signing and pavement markings, and performance turf installation. Site preparation activities include erosion control, clearing and grubbing, tree removal, excavation, and embankment construction. All pedestrian facilities will be designed and constructed to meet current ADA standards.
