PROJECT:
Agreement between Healthy Start Coalition of Orange County, Florida and Orange County, Florida OAM04

 

PURPOSE: The Healthy Start Coalition of Orange County and Orange County, Florida have partnered to provide program services to childbearing age females (ages 17-44) as well as males who are incarcerated at the Orange County Corrections Department to ensure that all babies are born healthy. Under the agreement, Orange County Corrections Department Inmate Programs Division shall provide access to inmate participants and provide classroom space, furnishings and equipment as well as private space to conduct confidential assessments. Healthy Start Coalition shall provide staff to conduct classes and one on one assessments of participants’ needs and ongoing care and coordination. The program assists the inmate by coordinating and collaborating with other community resources and provides transitional services upon release from incarceration. The continuation of care services for participants released within Orange County is to ensure optimum health for male parent, female parent and infant. There is no funding obligation for Orange County.
