PROJECT:
Vision 2050 and Orange Code Work Session

PURPOSE: During the November 19, 2024, Board Work Session, staff will provide an update on potential Vision 2050 and Orange Code timelines, including the possibility of having to re-transmit the Vision 2050 Comprehensive Plan to the Florida Department of Commerce due to the extent of plan changes since July 2023.

In addition, Transportation Planning Division staff will review projected transportation deficiencies and a corresponding Long Range Transportation Plan to address impacts of the County’s projected population growth and the proposed Vision 2050 Place Type Map. Staff also will discuss policy options to promote financial feasibility and a multimodal transportation network.

A subsequent work session to address OCPS / Public School capacity concerns, environmental policy updates, and other District Commissioner-specific topics will be held with the Board on December 17, 2024.

While staff may seek guidance on certain topics, no formal Board action is requested at this time.
