Approval to award Invitation for Bids Y24-166-TF, Automotive Batteries to the low responsive and responsible bidder, Continental Battery Company, in the estimated contract award amount of $507,983.40 for a two-year term. Further request Board authorization for the Procurement Division to renew the contract for three additional one-year terms.

PROCUREMENT:
This contract will provide automotive batteries on an as-needed basis for Orange County fleet vehicles.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 5530-043-2035-4163.
APPROVALS:
The Fleet Management Division and Business Development Division concur with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
Nine bids were received in response to this Invitation for Bids (IFB) and were evaluated for price reasonableness, responsiveness, and responsibility. Batteriesource LLC dba Batteriesplus was deemed non-responsive for failing to meet the reference requirements of the IFB.
Continental Battery Company has a satisfactory record of performance with the County and is considered responsible. Therefore, the award is recommended to Continental Battery Company.
