Approval to award Invitation for Bids Y25-760-CR, Sheriff's Evidence Warehouse, to the low responsive and responsible bidder, S.A Casey Construction, Inc., in the total contract award amount of $12,419,000.
In the event the bidder recommended above fails to achieve timely compliance with pre-award deliverables, as defined in the Invitation for Bids, including, but not limited to, State Division of Corporations registration, E-verify, insurance and bonds, further request Board authorization for the Procurement Division to award to the next low responsive and responsible bidder as listed in the bid tabulation herein, to the extent practicable and advantageous to the County. PROCUREMENT:
Work under this contract consists of the remodel of the building to be the new Orange County Sheriff's Evidence Warehouse which will include a complete interior demolition of all stud walls, existing plumbing and electrical, and a partial demolition and replacement of a section of the decking and joists.
The new layout will be separated into two sides. The administrative side will contain a training room, breakroom, offices, and an evidence drop for deputies. The warehouse side will contain seven different types of storage, a triage center, and a truck receiving area with a new ramp. Accessibility ramps will also be installed at all egress doors. Security gates will maintain a secure perimeter. The project is located in District 6.
