Approval and execution for the Orange County Sheriff's Office to spend $65,500 from the FY 2026 Law Enforcement Trust Fund-State Forfeitures for eligible contributions to Legal Aid Society ($30,000), Explorers ($30,000), Florida FBINAA, 2026 Retraining Conference ($1,000), Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. ($2,500), and Friendship Foundation, Inc. ($2,000). (Office of Management and Budget)

PURPOSE:
Legal Aid Society - $30,000. This contribution provides practical legal help where it is most urgently needed by utilizing the law to bring as much physical safety and economic stability as possible to neighbors in need. The Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association solves real problems for real people, quietly strengthening the safety net in the same neighborhoods that OCSO deputies serve.
Explorer Post Program - $30,000. This contribution is for the Explorer Post Program and will assist in providing structured training, mentorship, and service opportunities for the youth participants.
Florida FBINAA, 2026 Retraining Conference - $1,000. The Volusia Sheriff's Office and the Florida FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA) will be hosting the 2026 Florida FBINAA Retraining Conference in Daytona Beach, Florida from August 1 through 4, 2026. The funds received from the donation will directly support the conference with an emphasis on the training component and will be used to help with the costs of conference materials and training expenses.
