PROJECT: N/A

PURPOSE:
The Orlo Vista/Westside Manor Flood Mitigation Project funding agreement with the State of Florida, Department of Commerce, was approved by the Board on April 5, 2022. The agreement included a Department of Commerce funding share of $2,506,371 to cover the 25% local match portion of the FEMA HMGP Phase II (Construction) project, and a federal funding share of $7,519,113, for a total project cost of $10,025,484.

The Board also approved Memorandum of Amendment One with the State of Florida, Department of Commerce on August 30, 2022. This Amendment was requested by the Department of Commerce to update the funding source (moving 'Project Implementation' funds into 'Construction') and to update the Citizen Complaint language. The project achieved substantial completion on August 28, 2025.

The Time Extension Request was submitted on March 31, 2026, to the State of Florida, Department of Commerce to request an extension of the project's period of performance from April 24, 2026, to April 24, 2027, to allow time for final project closeout procedures. The County received notification on April 13, 2026, that the Department of Commerce had approved the time extension request (Amendment Two) through April 24, 2027.
