The Clerk of the Board is responsible for keeping accurate minutes and maintaining Board records for each Board of County Commissioner (BCC) and Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting. In addition, every 4 years, the Clerk of the Board office provides staff support to the Charter Review Commission (CRC) appointed by the BCC. Please contact our office if you need an accessible version of documents on this page, and one will be provided.

PURPOSE: I am pleased to announce the appointment of Chant? Martin as Major of the Support Services Division in the Corrections Department. Ms. Martin has been serving as Acting Major since October 1, 2023, after the retirement of Acting Major Jake Kantner in September of 2023. This position supports the Deputy Chief of Administrative Services by managing various areas, including Training and Staff Development, Policy and Accreditation, Emergency Management, Capital Projects, Food Services, Laundry, Sanitation, Armory, Fixed Assets, Key Control, Maintenance, Mail Room, Fire Safety Security Sanitation, and Jail Management System.

Ms. Martin has over 26 years of proven expertise in Corrections, with her entire tenure invested in various roles within Orange County. In 1999, she started as a Detention Service Officer and was promoted to Correctional Officer Trainee. In May of 2000, she was promoted to Certified Correctional Officer. Her career progressed with promotions to Correctional Corporal in 2005, Correctional Sergeant in 2009, Correctional Lieutenant in 2014, and Correctional Captain in 2020. She gained a wide range of experience by serving in leadership roles within three divisions in the Corrections Department.
