Approval and execution for the Orange County Sheriff's Office to spend $12,000 from the FY 2024 Law Enforcement Trust Fund-State Forfeitures for eligible contributions to Friendship Foundation, Inc. Friendship Foundation, Inc. - $2,000. This organization awards scholarships to local high school seniors to pursue a college degree. A college educated kid is less likely to get involved in crime, thus reducing crime in our community. The Friendship Foundation of Central Florida is hosting its 21st Annual Founders Golf Tournament on August 3, 2024, at Stoneybrook West Golf Club in Winter Garden, Florida.
Orange County Police Athletic League (PAL) - $5,000. This contribution will provide funds to support and provide athletic, recreational, and educational programs for at-risk youngsters using law enforcement officers as coaches, mentors, and role models to influence children to avoid crime, drugs, gangs, violence, and truancy. The Orange County PAL 2024 Golf Tournament will be held at Shingle Creek Golf Club on September 23, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.
National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) - $5,000. The Central Florida NOBLE Chapter is dedicated to promoting equity in the administration of justice and fostering community relationships.
