Approval and execution of Office of Detention Services Intergovernmental Agreement Agreement Number 18-04-0023 between Orange County, Florida and the U.S. Department of Justice United States Marshals Service Prisoner Operations Division for housing federal prisoners; and authorization for staff, upon confirmation that the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Basic Ordering Agreement is effective, to transmit the County-executed IGA to the United States Marshals Services for countersignature and provide the required notice of termination of the current Intergovernmental Service Agreement. PURPOSE: The proposed Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) is an agreement between Orange County and the U.S. Department of Justice, United States Marshals Service (USMS), Prisoner Operation Division, for the housing of individuals at the Orange County Corrections Department. The proposed IGA will replace the County’s current Intergovernmental Service Agreement (IGSA) with the USMS, does not include an ICE option, and includes a new $125 per diem reimbursement rate. Upon Board approval and execution by the County, staff will transmit the County-executed IGA to the USMS for countersignature. Upon confirmation that the ICE Basic Ording Agreement is effective, staff will provide the USMS with notice of termination of the current IGSA.
