PROJECT: N/A

PURPOSE: The Orange County Sustainability Operations & Resilience Action Plan (SORAP) calls for County facilities to be electric vehicle (EV)-charger-ready when undergoing major renovations or new construction. The Board accepted this plan that calls for implementing new County-owned, publicly accessible EV charging stations. Orange County has two charging stations that are being implemented in accordance with the SORAP: One station will be at Magnolia Park, and another will be at the Fire Training Facility. A fee for such charging stations should reflect current operating agreements, comply with Florida Statutes, and cover the costs of services as practical, customary and reasonable. The Office of Sustainability and Resilience has recently reviewed fees charged for similar services in comparable locations and determined the fee to comply with our responsibilities should be computed as follows: Cost of Electricity, currently $0.16 per kWh, plus Vendor Processing fee, currently $0.03 per kWh, plus Annual network fee, currently estimated at $0.07 per kWh, plus Maintenance, currently estimated at $0.05 per kWh. The fee computed using this formula will be initially $0.31 per kWh and will be reviewed periodically to insure recovery of actual costs.
