($5,000), Brookestone Property Owners Association, Inc. ($5,000), Torey Pines Homeowners' Association, Inc. ($5,000), Windermere Ridge Homeowners' Association, Inc. ($5,000), Christiana Gardens Homeowners' Association, Inc. ($2,358), Royal Oaks Estates Community Association, Inc. ($5,000), Willows on the Lake at Lake Johio Homeowners' Association, Inc. ($5,000), and Miller's Cove Homeowners' Association, Inc. ($5,000) and authorization for the Director of Planning, Environmental, and Development Services to execute the associated grant agreements. PROJECT: Sustainable Communities Grant
PURPOSE: The Neighborhood Services Division administers the Sustainable Communities Grant, which provides funds for neighborhood organizations to help reduce pollution and their carbon footprint. The grant is available countywide in amounts ranging between $500 and $5,000. Applications are accepted year-round and are reviewed quarterly by the Neighborhood Grants Advisory Board. The Environmental Protection Division (EPD) helped to develop the grant's criteria and assists applicants in developing projects that reduce pollution and their carbon footprint. Organizations are required to provide a letter of support from EPD, which has been provided for these projects.
