Approval and execution for the Orange County Sheriff's Office to spend $293,000 from the FY 2025 Law Enforcement Trust Fund-State Forfeitures for eligible contributions to Legal Aid Society ($5,000), Pace Center for Girls Inc. Legal Aid Society - $5,000. This contribution provides funding for a sponsorship for the 18th Annual Breakfast of Champions fundraising event on November 13, 2025, that raises funding to provide free, quality legal services to qualified, low-income residents in Orange County. The fundraising event will be held at the Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida.
PACE Center for Girls Inc. - $5,000. This organization is a nationally recognized, researched-based model that emphasizes academics and social service as a path to a better future for girls and young women ages 11 through 18. A nonresidential delinquency prevention program with 21 locations across the state of Florida, PACE helps girls confront a wide range of serious risks including school failure, substance abuse, histories of abuse and neglect, and health and psychological issues. The Believing in Girls Breakfast - The BIG 40, will be held on June 6, 2025, at the Alfond Inn in Winter Park Florida.
Community Crime Prevention Grant Program - $283,000. This program contribution will provide micro-grants ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 to thirty-four nonprofit organizations, neighborhood groups and others engaged in projects or programs that address neighborhood safety, crime prevention, and drug abuse education and prevention.
