PROJECT:
N/A

PURPOSE:
A change order in the amount of $527,315.88 for the Orlo Vista Flood Mitigation Project is needed to cover the cost associated with the following:

1) Permanently installing the stormwater bypass system
2) Extending the emergency pumping through June 2025 to draw down and maintain
    the West Pond water level.
3) Extending the builder's risk insurance through the end of the project.

The stormwater bypass is critical to maintain the pond water level with mobile pumps while the permanent pump’s electrical work and connection to Duke power is being finalized. This work is needed due to the elimination of the previous connection to the outfall force main that was part of the construction process. This will maximize the available storage/flood protection in advance of the 2025 hurricane season.

Change Order 1 covered the costs associated with the following: a) Connecting two temporary pump discharge pipes to the pump station’s spare 30-inch spare discharge port, and b) Extending the emergency pumping from December 2024 through January 2025 to draw down and maintain the West Pond water level at elevation 62.00 ft.

The original Emergency Purchase order M114783 was approved by the Board on May 21, 2024, for the emergency pumping during the 2024 Hurricane Season (June through November).
