PROJECT:
Renewal of Memorandum of Agreement between the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency Integrated Public Alert and Warning System and Orange County regarding the use of Orange County Interoperable System(s) and IPAWS OPEN Platform for Emergency Networks

PURPOSE: The Memorandum of Agreement between the Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Orange County will provide a no cost solution that will continue to enhance our ability to send urgent, lifesaving information to our citizens during an emergency. This agreement allows our existing systems to interface with the FEMA network and will grant the Office of Emergency Management direct access to the Federal IPAWS-OPEN system. This system enables Orange County to send critical messages through a variety of methods, both individually and simultaneously. The infrastructure for this system is in place and all required staff within the Office of Emergency Management have completed federally mandated training. There is no cost to the County.
