PURPOSE: Section 339.175(2), Florida Statutes, provides the methodology to determine the membership of the MetroPlan Orlando Board of Directors (MPO). Orange County is allocated seven representatives. Currently, Mayor Demings and Commissioners Wilson, Moore, Uribe, Gomez Cordero, and Scott represent Orange County, leaving one vacancy due to the departure of former Commissioner Bonilla. The terms of Commissioners Wilson, Uribe, Gomez Cordero, and Scott have also expired.
Accordingly, on December 3, 2024, the Board will be requested to appoint five commissioners to serve on the MPO. Commissioners Wilson, Uribe, Gomez Cordero, and Scott will be reappointed with terms expiring December 1, 2028, and Commissioner Semrad will be appointed to succeed former Commissioner Bonilla with a term expiring December 1, 2026.
