PURPOSE:
Traffic Engineering staff recommend conversion of the existing traffic control at the Blair Drive and Dorscher Road intersection from a two-way stop control to a multi-way stop control intersection.

Citizens with safety concerns requested that the Traffic Engineering Division review the Intersection of Blair Drive and Dorscher Road for traffic calming and operational improvements. The intersection was evaluated for safety, and it was recommended to convert from the existing two-way stop control to a multi-way stop control.  The conducted study took into consideration existing field conditions including topography, geometric constraints, sight distance, crash history, and traffic control.

In support of the findings and to improve traffic operations, including pedestrian safety, Traffic Engineering staff recommend that the existing two-way stop control of Blair Drive be converted to a multi-way stop control at the Intersection of Blair Drive and Dorscher Road. The installation of a multi-way stop control is proposed to address the safety issues and reduce the risk of accidents at this location. By implementing stop signs at each leg of the intersection, we aim to enhance visibility, regulate traffic flow, and mitigate potential conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians.
