PROJECT:
Tobacco Shop Distance Separation Requirements Work Session

PURPOSE: On April 7, 2026, the Board directed staff to begin working on code amendments related to the creation of distance separation requirements between tobacco shops and schools, as well as prohibiting tobacco shops in the Four Corners Community Village Center. On June 30, 2026, staff will outline how tobacco shops are currently regulated in Orange County and provide a summary of how the use is regulated in other jurisdictions. Staff will also provide recommended code amendments and next steps and will be seeking feedback and direction from the Board.
