PROJECT:
Public Facilities Improvements -Friends of Children and Families, Inc., Primrose Center, Inc., Matthew’s Hope Ministries, Inc.

PURPOSE: On August 5, 2025, the Board approved the 2025-2026 Annual Action Plan for housing and community development programs funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Action Plan utilizes some of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to support capital improvements related to rehabilitation of public facilities that provide services to low to moderate income individuals and families, to include homeless people.

CDBG funds have been awarded to three agencies for public facility improvements. Friends of Children and Families, Inc. will upgrade two group homes for better storm readiness; Primrose Center, Inc. will focus on campus fencing and landscaping; and Matthew’s Hope Ministries, Inc. will enhance shower and hygiene facilities at its drop-in center.  These agreements have been reviewed by the County Attorney’s Office as to form.
