PROCUREMENT:
Work under the contract will be used to rehabilitate existing asphalt roadways by heating, recycling, and restoring the surface layer of the pavement in place, typically up to a depth of one inch, followed by the placement of a new asphalt surface layer. This process provides the County with a cost-effective pavement preservation and rehabilitation option that can extend pavement service life, improve ride quality, and restore roadway surface conditions. Because the work is performed in place and typically as a continuous operation, it may reduce construction time, minimize traffic impacts, and support the conservation of non-renewable resources by reusing existing asphalt materials. These services will support the Roads and Drainage Division’s efforts to maintain safe, reliable, and sustainable roadway infrastructure throughout Orange County. Work will be issued on an as-needed basis throughout Orange County.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 1004-072-2990-3816.
APPROVALS:
The Roads and Drainage Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
Two bids were received in response to this Invitation for Bids and evaluated for responsiveness, responsibility, and price reasonableness. Brand...
