The Clerk of the Board is responsible for keeping accurate minutes and maintaining Board records for each Board of County Commissioner (BCC) and Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting. In addition, every 4 years, the Clerk of the Board office provides staff support to the Charter Review Commission (CRC) appointed by the BCC. PURPOSE: Pursuant to Mayor Demings’ direction at the January 27, 2026 Board meeting, County Administration, the County Attorney’s office, and the Corrections Department will provide a brief update to the Board. This update will include the following: a. current jail statistics related to the incarceration of ICE immigrant detainees; b. status of IGSA contract negotiations; and c. legal assessment of proposed moratorium against the development of future “non-municipal detention facilities.”
